2025 ECC Design Awards Program Finalists - EIFS Council of Canada

(May 13, 2025, Toronto, ON) The EIFS Council of Canada (ECC) proudly announces the 2025 EIFS Council of Canada Design Awards Program finalists. The projects chosen for the Finalist Awards are as follows: Seneca Development – Inner City Sustainable Flex-Houses, Amica Jubilee House, Lakhouse, Raymond Desmarais Manor Deep Energy Retrofit, Hampton Inn Conversion by Hilton and Seasons London Retirement Residence

Additionally, the Judging panel has identified the following project for an Award of Merit: Margueretta Missing Middle Multiplex.

The judging panels selection of finalist projects highlighted below, demonstrated excellence in the areas of design, contribution to community, sustainability, technical excellence, and the newest innovativations of EIFS. The Awards Finalist projects, their architectural design teams, EIFS Manufacturers and EIFS Contractors are as follows:

The nominated projects were evaluated and judged by an esteemed five-member judging panel led by Panel Spokesperson Greg Ropp (Homestead Land Holdings Limited), along with panel members: Darius Saplys (API Development Consultants & Saplys Architects Inc.), Joe Somfay (Joe Somfay Architect), John Romanov (Romanov Romanov Architects Inc.), and Przemyslaw (Shem) Myszkowski (KNYMH Inc.).

At the completion of a demanding and difficult finalist selection process, the judging panel proceeded to select the Grand Prize Award winner from the six category finalists. The Grand Prize recipients will remain confidential until announced at the ECC Design Awards Dinner on June 17th, 2025 in Toronto. The ECC Design Awards Architect and EIFS Contractor recipients will receive their awards and be recognized and celebrated at the ECC Awards Dinner amongst an audience of national design and building industry executives.
