(January 10th, 2025, Toronto, ON) The EIFS Council of Canada (ECC) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2025 ECC Design Awards competition. The ECC Awards Program was initiated in 2016 to honour design professionals and contractor execution teams which incorporate EIFS products into innovative and creative built projects.

The ECC’s award-winning projects represent the very best in EIFS design versatility and excellence across Canada. Last year’s Grand Prize was awarded to Meadowbrook Lane Passive House Affordable Residence by Kearns Mancini Architects Inc. Once again, the EIFS Council encourages all architects, design professionals, and EIFS contractors to submit their recent EIFS projects for the opportunity to be selected as a category finalist as well as overall Grand Prize recipient.

“The EIFS Council of Canada is pleased to continue to recognize and honour projects and their design and execution team that have utilized EIFS in creative and exceptional architecture” remarked John M. Garbin, President/ CEO of the EIFS Council of Canada, “We developed these Awards with the objective of creating ‘unique industry benchmarks’ in EIFS construction. The finalists and winners from past years have clearly demonstrated that EIFS helps realize Canada’s national objective of creating resilient,
sustainable and aesthetically pleasing infrastructure.”

The ECC Awards Program is open to all architects, builders, design professionals and/or EIFS contractors that have completed a project located in Canada that utilizes EIFS. Eligible projects must be occupied no sooner than January 1st, 2023 and no later than January 31st, 2025. All applicants may submit their projects in one of eight categories: 1) low rise residential, 2) mid-rise residential, 3) high rise residential, 4) commercial/retail, 5) recreational/institutional, 6) hospitality, 7) renovation, and 8) panelized/pre-fabricated EIFS Systems.

Registrations and submissions are now open. Final submission packages must be received no later than 11:59 PM, April 21st, 2025.

Award finalists will be announced on May 9th, 2025. All Award finalists will be announced in a Press Release and featured in articles submitted to prominent Canadian architectural and construction publications. The recipients will be selected by a renowned jury of industry experts from a variety of building industry disciplines. The jury will consider the submissions in relation to a range of established criteria to decide on a winning project. Award recipients will be honoured at the EIFS Council of Canada
Annual General Meeting and Awards Dinner in Toronto on June 17th, 2025.
